Sugar Creek Youth Triathlon and Sugar Creek Kids KinderTry Triathlon Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2010 Please join us for the 2nd Annual Sugar Creek Youth Triathlon and Kids KinderTry. Both USAT certified, these events provide an easy introduction to the sport of triathlon for youth ages 5-16 years. Our goal is to promote physical fitness while having fun swimming, biking and running. In 2009, over 225 youth participated in the inaugural triathlon, and we have added the KinderTry for children ages 5-7. Youth triathlon is the fastest growing youth sport in our region. All proceeds are donated to the Frazee Dream Center and Daily Bread Ministries. Sugar Creek Youth Triathlon The Youth Triathlon includes a 100 meter pool swim, a 4 mile bike and a 1.3 mile run. The entire race takes place in Sugar Creek Neighborhood and volunteers will be stationed along the entire course to ensure safety and to encourage the athletes as they complete the race. This race is open to ages 8-16 years. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following age categories: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-16. All participants will receive medals. The entire race takes place in Sugar Creek Neighborhood and volunteers will be stationed in the pool and along the entire course to ensure safety and to encourage the athletes as they complete the race. This race is open to children ages 5-7 years. One parent will be allowed to join their children (ON FOOT, WALKING OR RUNNING) on the course for the bike and run. Local high school and club swim team athletes will line the pool lane to make sure all KinderTry participants make it safely through the swim to the transition area.
